HEALTHMAX Chiropractic

Let me ask you a question then paint a picture of a scenario that you could be faced with someday.  Here we go……..

What would happen if the foundation of your house sunk down on one side by just a couple of inches?  Would it be reasonable to suggest that your floorboards would creak a little?  Would you expect to start seeing cracks in your drywall?  How about the windows?  Would you expect them to open smoothly or not so smoothly?  Would it be reasonable to expect there to be problems with you roof as a result of this shift?

As you probably have guessed, the PROBLEM is a strutural shift.  Traditional doctors, regardless of what area of healthcare in which they fall, typically look at correcting the SECONDARY CONDITIONS, rather than focusing on the underlying cause.  The traditional doctor would put an extra nail or two into your floor to stop it from creaking, would patch up your drywall, and would put a little WD40 around the window to help things move a littel smoother.  Will all of those measures FIX the problem?

What would you do FIRST if this were YOUR home?  That’s right- you’d get our of that house for a short time and let someone who focuses on repairing structural problems, come to your home and fix the foundation.  After that,  and after a little work on the secondary effects from the shift in the foundation, you’re good to go.  Does that make sense?

Well, Dr. Lasko is not the person you want coming over to fix the foundation of your home, but he IS the doctor you will want if you have a structural problem of your spine or skeletal frame.  Last week he explained to our group how what he does is not of the traditional ways of chiropractic, which addresses only secondary conditions by a means to decrease muscular spasm, increase joint mobility, and reduce pain.  He instead focuses on the structural correction of the spine by utilizing structural corrective adjusting methods, structural remodeling traction, and supportive strucutral exercises, in an effort to correct structural shifts.

Dr. Lasko’s office is in fact the only one from here down to Santa Barbara and up to Mountain View which focuses on this way of care.

So whether you already see a traditional chiropractor now and are frustrated with the continual care that seems to have no long-term results, or you have never been to a chiropractor before and are considering your options to resolving a pain complaint you’ve had for awhile, Dr. Lasko is by far a doctor you need to call and set up a free consultation to discuss the possibilities that he may be able to help you.

Before turning to prescription medications, or wasting your time in physical therapy, or getting those coritcosteroid injections, or heaven for bid, pursuing more invasive procedures (AKA surgery), consider first……….if you want results, long-lasting results,  then call Dr. Lasko and start your journey towards long-lasting maximum health.

You know, it’s not everyday that you see a business professional WALK THEIR TALK.  And notice, I did say, professional.  Though the implication is that one would represent their business in such a way as to make a lasting first impression to others, that’s not always the case.  But with one of our newer members to the chapter, she clearly walks that line of professionalism!

Doran Poma is our newest Esthetician/Makeup Artist.

She gave a presentation to our group a couple of weeks ago to give an overview of her services.  Quite frankly, as thorough of a job that she did, she could have just stood up there, on a pedalstool and just simply have said, “Come here, look at my skin, look at my make-up, any questions?”

Doran is highly qualified and licensed to legally touch your skin and uses nothing but top-notch, pharmaceutical grade products as she wants nothing but the best for your skin health and looks.

Her stellar services include:
- Facial Treatments

Valerie Hassler our chapter’s HandyGirl spoke on electrical safety. If you have appliances or equipment that needs juice Valerie has the expertise to power you up. If you have breakers that often pop you can’t take care of the issue by putting a larger breaker in; this will cause an overload to happen and can cause a fire in the home. Never bypass breakers or put more of a load than an outlet can handle. Instead call Valerie and let her insure that your electrical needs are met in a safe manner. Valerie also spoke on Dimmer Switches in the home. If you have a dimmer switch that is hot to the touch chances are you have a dimmer switch that is not rated for the wattage; Valerie can asses the issue and determine if there is a better dimmer switch for your needs. Valerie is versed in all aspects of electrical, plumbing, handy work, and construction. No job is out of the ordinary; call Valerie for your handy work today!

Long-Term Care Insurance

Speakers of the Week No Comments »

This morning, we were presented with the exuberant topic of Long-Term Care Insurance by Mary Myles, of Primerica Ins.  Using props such as adult size diapers and a walker were enough to impact us on the gravity of the consequences for ignoring such later stage-0f-life.  We all may have shared the thought of our kids taking care of us someday………..but the reality is, are they who we really want to change our poopie diapers and carry us to and from the bath?  Why should we burden those we love?  Won’t it be hard enough for them to watch our deteriorating health condition already?

Good thing we know Mary Myles to educate us on our options!  Perhaps she could help you be prepared?

Lee put it so perfectly as he said, “When you go to a jewelry store, you buy what THEY want…….but when you come to me, you get what YOU want!”

Isn’t  that what you want for yourself or someone you love?

Roberta Brunett with “Your HomeTown Sewing Center”

Roberta spoke about the decisions we make as children and how it effects our adult life. In Roberta’s case she recalls life in the third grade and how she was fascinated with history (the origins of things) and loved learning to count money and organizing. Fifty years later she finds her self running a sewing retail store which requires her to organize materials, research the origins of specific textiles and how common patterns developed. She also related an interesting fact about how the textiles industry gave birth to the first computer systems.
