LeTip of Monterey has enriched my carpet and upholstery cleaning business by providing me with loyal customers who require the highest quality of service. I have been the owner-operator of Robinson Carpet Care since 1987, and I have advertised my company in newspapers, using both column and classified ads. Other methods of promotion have been employed. I have used local radio advertising and I have targeted specific communities with the bulk mailing of coupons. The yellow pages of our local telephone directories provided me with display ads as well as coupons. All of these promotional tools have generated business for my company, yet LeTip of Monterey is a completely unique method for growing and promoting my carpet cleaning business.
Every week I meet with my LeTip chapter. We are a group of local business operators, each member representing a specific business category. At our meeting, we promote our own business to our fellow LeTip members. We give each other the names of prospective customers who are expecting a call. In addition to the contacts given at our weekly meetings, my fellow members call me throughout the week providing me the names of those requiring my service. These LeTip members are my sales force.
When I contact a potential customer who has been referred to me by a fellow LeTip member, this potential customer knows about me and is ready to schedule a job. These customers quickly become loyal to me as they already have with LeTip member who referred me. These new customers become my repeat customers. As an owner-operator of a small business, my time is precious, and the LeTip membership allows me to focus on providing quality service to my customers rather than constantly answering the telephone and attempting to generate business by undercutting the competition. LeTip of Monterey is enabling me to establish my service in the finest homes and offices on the Monterey Peninsula.
