Douglas Robinson - The Owner/Operator
I attended San Jose State earning my Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Studies with a concentration in Bio Medical Illustration. This is a combined study of the biological sciences with graphic design. I also have a Master of Arts in Education. The specialty for my MA is the production, design and implementation of educational media. For me college was a valuable experience, yet the best thing that happened to me in college was that I met my wife, Joan. January 1971 we met in an invertebrate zoology class while studying for final exams. About a month after we met, we were married. My wife and I both worked part time while completing our degrees. Joan became a teacher and she has taught all grade levels, pre-school through college as well as special education. In 1976 after completing our degrees and credential work we moved to Monterey County.
For the next ten years, between 1976 and 1986, I developed, produced and supervised personalized learning activities for colleges and school districts. I also operated job-training programs and managed sheltered workshops employing people with physical and developmental disabilities. During this ten year period, in 1980 and in 1985, our daughter and son were born. Both of our children are now married and raising families of their own.
In 1986 I began working with other educators building our own carpet cleaning businesses as well as promoting and training others purchasing their own carpet cleaning franchises. In 1987 I started operating Robinson Carpet Care full time. LeTip has been proven to quickly generate a loyal high quality customer base for me and my colleagues. In the 1990’s, in the Monterey Bay Area, the carpet cleaning category in three LeTip chapters was filled by carpet cleaners using our system. Robinson Carpet Care was of course one of these companies. It should be added that these three businesses are still offering the same high quality service to loyal and satisfied customers.
As the owner and operator of this carpet cleaning company, I am always on site, in your home or office, taking every job to its conclusion. While my children were in school, they worked with me on weekends and in the summer. I also have worked with my fellow carpet cleaners who helped me develop this system. Robinson Carpet Care is a family business where we take pride in our work. After years of mastering this craft I learned that there are many carpet cleaning systems, but your final result can only be as good as the one who does the work.
