Back in June of 2006, I was informed about Monterey LeTip by a business collegue of mine. He was actually a member of the chapter at the time and invited me to one of their weekly breakfast meetings. I was excited to attend as he informed me that he was soon to leave, thereby opening the door for me to potentially reoccupy the business category….and that’s exactly what happened.

Three years have passed and let me simply say that is has definitely been a wise investment of my time and money!

I’ve benefited from being a member with Montery LeTip in several ways. Not only have I had the opportunity to meet a variety of business professionals, but it’s allowed me to befriend them while simultaneously learn about their fields and products which I knew little-to-nothing about before. With that, I’ve been able to reap the benefit of their outstanding services for my selfish needs while at the same time, refer business to them when presented the opportunity.

Monterey LeTip is one of the carefully selected marketing strategies for my business. It has served a critical role as one of my sales forces. With an annual investment of less than $900, on average, LeTip has helped my business NET twice that amount! Afterall, the motto of LeTip is: “Putting Dollars in Your Pocket.”

While the financial reward is great, what I appreciate just as much, if not more, is that we have FUN! It’s been a common theme with our chapter, as we have had guest visit us after having visited other chapters, that we are a very FUN and WELCOLMING group! That attribute makes it even more exciting to wake up early every week to be surrounded with like individuals!

It’s been a privilege to have been given the opportunity to be a member with our chapter and I don’t plan on giving my spot up anytime soon…………..in fact, never!

Over five years ago, I was invited to attend a LeTip meeting.

Up to that point, I had never heard of LeTip, nor had I ever heard of a business networking, or business referral organization. I am thankful that someone else thought highly enough of me as a professional to invite me to attend (and eventually to join) LeTip of Monterey.

For the past five years, I have witnessed my client base grow, and the number of “tips” (or referrals) for insurance business steadily build.

I have tried several other “lead-generation” activities (including yellow pages, internet advertising, direct-mail campaigns, lead-purchasing, telemarketing subscriptions, chamber of commerce activities) and I can honestly say that there is no better (nor more consistent) lead-generation system than being a member of LeTip.

Receiving referrals is the best means to growing any business. And LeTip is focused on providing fellow members with referrals.

I have several clients who are LeTip members. I have clients who are family members/relatives of LeTip members. I have clients who are friends of LeTip members. I have clients who are also mutual clients of other LeTip members.

Well I’ve been in LeTip of Monterey for 3 months now. It has by far exceeded my expectations. I wanted to do some local advertising and thought about what would be the most effective long term and get the word out to as many people as possible. I am very happy with all of the members in our chapters. We are all trying to achieve the same goal. (Make more money). So far I have had $3000.00 in revenue from LeTip members and outside tips. This is 6 times of what I’ve invested into LeTip. It truly works. I’ve increased my customer count and made some new friends.

LeTip of Monterey has enriched my carpet and upholstery cleaning business by providing me with loyal customers who require the highest quality of service. I have been the owner-operator of Robinson Carpet Care since 1987, and I have advertised my company in newspapers, using both column and classified ads. Other methods of promotion have been employed. I have used local radio advertising and I have targeted specific communities with the bulk mailing of coupons. The yellow pages of our local telephone directories provided me with display ads as well as coupons. All of these promotional tools have generated business for my company, yet LeTip of Monterey is a completely unique method for growing and promoting my carpet cleaning business.

Every week I meet with my LeTip chapter. We are a group of local business operators, each member representing a specific business category. At our meeting, we promote our own business to our fellow LeTip members. We give each other the names of prospective customers who are expecting a call. In addition to the contacts given at our weekly meetings, my fellow members call me throughout the week providing me the names of those requiring my service. These LeTip members are my sales force.

When I contact a potential customer who has been referred to me by a fellow LeTip member, this potential customer knows about me and is ready to schedule a job. These customers quickly become loyal to me as they already have with LeTip member who referred me. These new customers become my repeat customers. As an owner-operator of a small business, my time is precious, and the LeTip membership allows me to focus on providing quality service to my customers rather than constantly answering the telephone and attempting to generate business by undercutting the competition. LeTip of Monterey is enabling me to establish my service in the finest homes and offices on the Monterey Peninsula.
